The state that makes America's soap
Ohio holds the largest state workforce in the country in soap, cleaning compound and cosmetics manufacturing, 17,900 people in 2023, ahead of California and New Jersey. That plant base buys oil by the drum into a surfactant system rather than by the kilo into a fragrance brief, so a cosmetic ingredients supplier quoting here is asked for a constituent range and a batch history before anything else.
Soap & Personal Cleansing
Bar, liquid and industrial hand-wash lines through the Cincinnati-Dayton corridor and up into Akron, buying base and functional oil by the drum against a fixed constituent spec.
Household & Industrial Cleaning
Hard-surface, laundry and dish formulators specifying citrus and cineole-type oils for scent and degreasing, in pail and tote quantities.
Cosmetics & Personal Care
Contract manufacturers and private-label fillers around Columbus, Cleveland and Toledo running lotion, shampoo and conditioner programs.
Coatings, Polymers & Industrial
Akron's polymer and coatings base specifies castor and its derivatives as bio-based feedstock, and buys to a fatty-acid profile rather than a scent profile.
The soap corridor: Cincinnati to Dayton on I-75
Ohio's cleaning-products base runs north out of Cincinnati on I-75 through Fairfield, Hamilton and Middletown to Dayton. Compounders along it formulate to a surfactant system rather than to a scent brief, which means the question at PO stage is not what an oil smells like but whether its constituent range will sit inside the same window on the next drum. That is a documentation problem before it is a sourcing one.
Browse the CatalogDrum and tote scale
Castor, citrus and cineole-type oils in 25-180 kg drums, totes and pallets, on tiered wholesale pricing with no minimum order.
Constituent range held
GC/MS on every batch, with constituent ranges held across reorders, so a formulation qualified once stays qualified.
Kosher documentation
EarthKosher certification carried on the lines this corridor buys most, issued alongside the CoA and SDS.
Private-label capable
Contract filling for brands moving a line from a co-packer to owned production without requalifying the raw material.
The In-State Advantage
A domestic supplier, not an import
Sourcing from a Ohio manufacturer shortens your supply chain in ways an overseas or out-of-state supplier cannot match.
Domestic freight, not an ocean lane
Material moves as a domestic ground shipment on the I-80 transcontinental corridor rather than as a container routed through an East Coast port and trucked inland, and free shipping applies to orders over $100 within the lower 48.
No import entry
No customs clearance, no ocean-freight lead time, no port-congestion risk - one domestic purchase order instead of an import file, in one currency and under one contract.
Pacific-time team, same working day
Chico runs on Pacific time, three hours behind Eastern, so an Ohio buyer reaches the team from around midday through the afternoon - the same working day, not overnight.
Order ahead of the winter
The I-80 lane crosses Donner Pass and the Wyoming high plains, both subject to chain controls and closures between roughly November and March. HBNO holds bulk stock in Chico, so an early reorder is waiting on freight rather than on production.

Shipping & Fulfillment
We Ship From Inside Ohio
Chico sits on Highway 99 at the top of the Sacramento Valley. Ohio-bound freight runs south to I-80 and then east the entire way, over Donner Pass, through Reno, Salt Lake City, Cheyenne, Omaha and Des Moines to Chicago, where the Indiana Toll Road and the Ohio Turnpike carry it into Toledo and Northeast Ohio. Columbus, Dayton and Cincinnati come off I-71 and I-70. Parcel goes FedEx Ground; drums and totes go LTL. Nothing clears customs.
Processing, then a northern transcontinental lane
Orders process in 3-5 business days, Monday to Friday. Ohio parcel transit then falls inside HBNO's published 1-7 day FedEx Ground range. No Ohio-specific figure is published and none is invented here.
Plan reorders, not rush orders
There is no Ohio warehouse and no in-state will-call - everything ships from Chico. The I-80 lane crosses Donner Pass and the Wyoming high plains, so between roughly November and March the buffer belongs in your reorder point.
Docs travel with every shipment
CoA, SDS, IFRA and allergen statements included on arrival.

What Our B2B Customers Say
Trusted by Wholesale Makers
I'm a loyal customer of HBNO since 2019. They carry amazing products, high quality and the best customer service ever.
Cosmetics & Personal Care
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Flavor and seasoning compounder, Texas
We've used HBNO for cassia, cinnamon bark, and cardamom across our bakery range since 2021. Optical rotation and refractive index on every certificate is what our incoming lab actually checks, and no minimum order let us qualify four spice oils in one quarter instead of one per year.
Flavor & Seasoning
Fabric care manufacturer, Ohio
Softener quat systems are unforgiving, and most fragrance houses send you the detergent version and hope. HBNO reworked the accord for the cationic base and shipped it with its own spec sheet. Our internal panel scored it higher on cotton than the material we had been running for six years.

Critical Inquiries & Operational Logistics
Bulk Supply, Answered
What is your minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
There is no minimum order quantity. Sizes run from evaluation samples to pails, drums, totes and pallets on LTL freight. Wholesale pricing is tiered, so request a quote against your target volume.
Do you offer private label services?
Yes. We offer full private-label and white-label programs, from custom blending to contract filling, for brands moving from small-batch runs into retail distribution.
Can you provide a Certificate of Analysis (CoA)?
Yes. Every batch ships with a Certificate of Analysis, an SDS, an allergen statement and IFRA documentation. GC/MS testing is done in our own lab, so the data behind the CoA is ours.
What extraction methods and grades are available?
We supply steam-distilled, cold-pressed and CO2-extracted oils across cosmetic, food and industrial grades, each held to a published specification.
